Delhi: Road caves in on BRT corridor, 2 injured

New Delhi, Aug 2: Two men were injured in the national capital on Sunday, Aug 2 after their bike fell into a huge pothole in the middle of the road near Moolchand flyover on the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) corridor.

The incident took place when Amit and Santhosh were returning home from work and fell into the crater while crossing the BRT. The injured were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre and are undergoing treatment.

According to police, both were still unconscious. "We have still not registered a complaint in this case. The road caved in around 2 a.m. The traffic on the section is closed for repair work. The traffic is being managed," said a police official.

The BRT has been constructed especially for the 2010 Commonwealth Games being held in New Delhi.
