Kingfisher Airlines warns staff of delay in salary

New Delhi, Jul 29: Kingfisher Airlines has sent a mail to its 6000 employees warning them that there will be delay in the salaries, a media report said on Wednesday, Jul 29.

In an email sent, Hitesh Patel, executive vice-president, Kingfisher Airlines, wrote, "Along with all other airlines, we are in a tight situation regarding finances. You can expect to be in embarrassing situations with our vendors; your salaries may be delayed but never beyond the 7th."

Kingfisher Airline"s chief Vijay Mallya had claimed that the government is 'over taxing hugely' the airlines and added, "if taxes, especially the sales tax on jet fuel, are rationalised the financial health of the industry would improve significantly."

"The government is over taxing hugely the aviation industry in terms of fuel ... this is one of the serious disadvantages...," he added.
