Infosys looks at Tier II cities for expansion
Tiruchirappalli, Jul 28: Speaking at a lecture, Infosys CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan said that Infosys is planning to expand to Tier II cities of the country as soon as the global economy recovers from the slump.
The software major has already set up units in Tier II cities like Mysore, Mangalore, Kochi, Bhubaneshwar and Chandigarh. Gopalakrishnan said that the economic situation is expected to improve by the year end.
When the economy recovers, the IT industry will emerge on top like before, he said at a meet organised by the local unit of CII.
Adding that the company has not lost even one client during the tough times of recession, he admitted that the major's revenues were definitely hit by the slump.
