Girl chained for 8 days by her stepfather

Hyderabad, Jul 28: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old daughter, who was allegedly chained by her father for over 8 days, was rescued by the police on Monday, Jul 27 following a complaint by the girl"s mother.

17-year-old Heena said, "My stepfather some times drinks alcohol. I went away from home because I was afraid. My stepfather got angry and brought me home. He put a chain on my feet and beat me."

Mehrunnisa Begum, Heena's mother divorced her first husband and got married to another person, Syed Akbar.

Akbar is now under police custody. G Sridhar, Police Inspector said, " For the last 8 days, she was tied up with iron chains and some thread. We have taken a complaint from Mehrunisa begum and registered a case."
