Delhi police busts fake passport racket
New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Delhi Police busted an international fake passport and visa racket and arrested ten people, including eight Bangladeshi nationals on Sunday.
The racket was involved in providing fake documents, which would enable Bangladeshis to travel as Indian citizens to Greece and other European via Turkey.
Bangladeshi nationals who were on their way to visit Greece were arrested, while 29 passports, stamps of various departments of Government of India, computers, one Toyota Qualis vehicle have also been recovered from the accused persons.
"The Special Operation Squad of Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a racket originating from Bangladesh and spread over Turkey and Europe. Ten people have been arrested so far out of which eight are Bangladeshi nationals and two are Indian citizens," said Neeraj Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Delhi.
Two of the accused arrested, namely Badul and Akram, disclosed that a large number of Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Indians aspiring to visit European countries started this racket eight months back.
A large number of illegal immigrants have travelled abroad under this racket. (ANI)
