Surveys for new railway projects

New Delhi, July 23(ANI): Union Minister of State for Ministry of Railways K.H. Muniyappa on Thursday said that during the last three years, 116 surveys for new lines, 16 surveys for gauge conversion and two surveys for flyovers have been completed.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Muniyappa further stated that out of the completed surveys, government has sanctioned 18 new lines, six gauge conversion and one flyover projects.

The minister also highlighted that normally, it takes around one to two years for a survey to be completed depending upon length of the line and geographical conditions. (ANI)
