New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the narco-analysis test of police officers who were arrested in connection with the alleged rape and murder of two women in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir.

A two-member apex court bench, comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam set Friday as the next date of hearing of the case.

Blood samples of Shopian Police Superintendent Javed Iqbal, Deputy Superintendent of police Rohit Baskotra, Station House Officer Shafeeq Ahmad and Sub-inspector Qazi Abdul Karim, were collected by the medical officers on Sunday.

The samples were taken on the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

Earlier this month, the Kashmir Valley witnessed violence and protests following the May 31st rape and murder of two women allegedly by police officials. The court also constituted a Special Investigative Team to probe the case. (ANI)
