Shopian case: SC stays narco test of policemen
New Delhi, Jul 20: The Supreme Court on Monday, Jul 20 stopped the narco-analysis of the police officers who were involved in the double murder of two women in Shopian town in Jammu Kashmir. The bail of these officers will be heard on Friday, Jul 24.
The Jammu Kashmir government had earlier admitted that certain police officers were involved in the rape and murder of the two women. While blood samples of four policemen who were arrested for alleged destruction of evidence were collected on Saturday, Jul 18.
Official sources said, "The samples were taken from Shopian police superintendent Javed Iqbal, deputy superintendent of police Rohit Baskotra, station house officer Shafeeq Ahmad and sub-inspector Qazi Abdul Karim."
It also said that the blood samples of the policemen is currently under police custody and preparation of DNA tests were under process.
