Shopian Case: HC wants blood samples of policemen
Srinagar, Jul 15: The Special Investigating Team (SIT) that is probing into the Shopian Double Murder case have been directed to arrest the four suspended police officers and to produce them in court along with their blood samples.
The Jammu Kashmir High Court which issued this order has also said that these policemen must not be provided any sort of relief including bail by any court. If any, the requests must be sent to the High Court.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice Barin Gosh and Justice Mohammad Yaqub Mir have also asked the people to stop protesting and to cooperate with the prob team.
The police officers were suspended based on a judicial probe report that showed the inadequate steps taken by the police in the case. The Jan commission later recommended action against the policemen as thye failed to follow the set procedures.
The bodies of Neelofar and Asiya were recovered on May 30. Since the government claimed that the women had died of drowning was met with protests from the people who claimed that they were raped and murdered by the security forces.
