Nandan Nilekani says good bye to Infosys

Bangalore, Jul 10: The co-chairman of IT giant, Infosys, Nandan Nilekani said goodbye to a full house on Thursday, Jul 9 to move on to head Government's Unique ID project.

The founding team, board members shared their memories of Mr Nilekani in a ceremony that was attended by about 2,500 'Infoscians'. The emotionally charged event was also witnessed by about 100,000 employees worldwide through live webcast.

Chairman and chief mentor NR Narayana Murthy said that even though Nilekani was leaving Infosys he would always be a part of it. CEO S Gopalakrishnan said that he would remember Nilekani as someone who dreamed big and made all those dreams come true.

The farewell was also saw the presence of Nilekani's family members. He who was accompanied with mother Durga, wife Rohini, son Nihar and daughter Jahnavi said it was a difficult task to cut ties with Infosys. But he was excited about the project that lies ahead for him, he said.
