Google's Chrome OS will make PCs cheaper

San Francisco, Jul 9: Google just intensified its war against Microsoft's by promising to offer its Chrome operating system for free when it is launched in 2010.

The internet giant stepped into the software arena and revealed its plans to launch a new Operating system to beat Microsoft's monopoly with Windows. This step will be bolstered by the fact that Google is ready to give the operating system for free which will cut down the expense of buying a new PC.

With the introduction of the inexpensive Netbooks, Google had already made its mark as an inexpensive brand. However, noting that the prices of the PCs have been declining, Kaufman Bros analyst Shaw Wu said, "the one thing that has not been coming down is the cost of the operating system. This is going to put some pressure on Microsoft."
