Hyundai unveils petrol, diesel variants of i20
New Delhi, Jul 8: Hyundai unveiled the new petrol (automatic) and diesel variants of the i20 on Tuesday, Jul 7. The launch of the 1400 cc cars seems to be a last attempt to revive its recession-hit sales also affected by the stiff competition from other companies.
“We hope to nearly double the sales of the i20 after the launch of these two new versions to 4000 units monthly," Hyundai India MD HS Lheem said.
The base diesel version of the car comes with a price tag of Rs 6.19 lakh. The petrol automatic has a starting price of Rs 7.31 lakh.
With these two launches the company tries to make place for its models in the premium compact category that in which a line of new cars have been introduced recently, such as Maruti Ritz and Fiat Grande Punto.
