Oracle may sack 1 pc of its global staff

Boston, Jul 4: About 1,000 European Oracle Corp workers will be receiving pink slips as the global economic crisis has managed to break down the giant corporation too.

The company will be laying off about one thousand of its European staff or about 1 per cent of its global workforce, said a news agency report. The spokeswoman Deborah Hellinger declined to comment.

By taking this step the world's second biggest software maker will be joining recession hit companies like EMC Corp, Hewlett-Packard Co, International Business Machines Corp, Intel Corp, Microsoft Corp and SAP AG, among others.
