L&T wins massive projects with HMEL and MRPL

Mumbai, Jul 1: Securing Rs 651 crore worht of hydrocarbon projects, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is poised to build a green field refinery project at Bathinda for HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL).

HMEL project which will be executed by Construction Business Unit of L&T"s E&C Division and is expected to be completed in 17 months. The project involves construction of electro-mechanical sections for seven process units for the Guru Gobind Singh Refinery Project.

Apart from this the Indian Private sector firm has received 211 crore worth order from Engineers India Limited for the supply and construction of a reactor and regenerator system for the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).

The MRPL project will be worked on jointly by L&T"s Heavy Engineering Division and the Construction Business Unit of L&T"s E&C Division. This project that may take about 2 years includes supply and erection of reactor, regenerator, and orifice chamber with structural, refractory lined piping works including painting, insulation & refractory works for FCC Unit for Phase III of the refinery project.
