New Delhi, Jun 30: Speaking to the voters in his constituency, Shivaganga, Union Home Minister P chidambaram noted that statue queen Mayawati spent Rs 1000 crore on establishing statues and memorials of herself and other dalit leaders. But it appears she spent 2000 crore, and the maintenance cost for these would added up to Rs 270 crore a year.
Defending his leader, the Statue queen's right hand man Satish Mishra said that nobody objected to statues related to the upper caste. So the question is does two wrongs make one right? No.
Why did Mayawati not file a PIL against the upper caste statues?
The right thing for the Supreme Court of India would be to pass an order to bring down all statues irrespective of caste. Only freedom fighter statues should be left alone. That is the least they deserve.
