Chiranjeevi demands 'Bharat Ratna' for ex-PM

Hyderabad, Jun 28: Chiranjeevi, actor-turned politician on Sunday, Jun 28 has urged the government to confer Bharat Ratna award for former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao.

Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief said, "The economic reforms boldly initiated by him helped India march forward on the path of progress. The country has been able to compete with major countries since then."

He also said, "We have to introspect whether we are giving the respect and recognition that he truly deserves. On behalf of our Praja Rajyam Party and myself, we feel 'Bharat Ratna' award should be given to him."
