JK: Bus falls into gorge; 26 passengers dead

Jammu, Jun 24: A passenger bus rolled into a gorge on Udhampur-Katra road in Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday, Jun 24 killing at least 26 of its passengers. While 25 other passengers are injured, at least five of them are critically injured.

The bus with the number JK02E-7538 was reportedly on its way to Udhampur from Katra. The accident took place as the driver failed to take a sharp curve. The bus fell down about 300 feet deep gorge at Panthal Tikri.

Along with the locals, police and the army have reached the accident site and rescue operations have began to retrieve the dead bodies. the injured a being treated in injured were shifted to Udhampur Hospital and the critically injured passengers have been shifted to GMC Jammu.
