Woman gangraped in speeding SUV in Bhopal

Bhopal, Jun 19: A 25-year-old woman from Mumbai was gangraped by three men in a speeding SUV while her husband was held at gunpoint on Wednesday, Jun 18 night. The incident reportedly took place on the outskirts of Bhopal. Reports suggest the victim and her husband, resident of central Mumbai, came to Bhopal on Monday, Jun 15 to get their two children admitted to the Asaram Bapu Ashram School.

The incident comes six days after a similar case in Surat where a teenage girl was gangraped by three youths in a car. Reports suggest that the men in SUV appeared to be rich and were drunk. While one of them held the lady's husband at the gun point, the others excluding the driver, took turns to rape the hapless woman. The couple were later pushed down at Mubarakpur Square, 15 km from Bhopal. They also dumped the car seat cover, a couple of silver bracelets and other sundry items, which have been seized.

Police conducted raids in some parts of the city after the couple filed a complaint. However no arrests are made so far. Jaideep Prasad, the Bhopal SP said that the police are now on the lookout for the black Innova.
