Sena chief Bal Thackeray hospitalised in Mumbai

Mumbai, un 19: Shiv Sena supremo, Bal Thackeray was hospitalised on Thursday, Jun 18 night after he complained of breathing problems. Neelam Gorhe, the party spokesperson said that the 'foundation day' function of Shiv Sena, which completed 43 years on Friday, Jun 19 was postponed due to Thackeray's hospitalisation.

Sources said that 83-year-old Thackeray was suffering a lung infection. Thackeray, who set up the Sena in 1966 espousing cause of sons-of-the-soil, was admitted to Lilavati hospital in Mumbai.

For the last couple of years ailing Bal Thackeray has been a regular visitor at the hospital due to age-related problems. Hospital sources said that Sena chief is kept under observation.
