CBI raid Padamsinh's house; recover arms, cash

New Delhi, Jun 19: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) raided the murder accused NCP leader Padamsinh Patil's house late Thursday night, Jun 18 to find arms and ammunitions, huge amount of cash, and several incriminating documents.

CBI has seized 'highly incriminatory' documents relating to the murder and the financial fraud in the Terna co-operative sugar factory in Osmanabad, along with Rs 7.26 lakhs of unaccounted cash and also documents referring to social activist Anna Hazare were also found in the flats, media reports said quoting a source.

The source revealed that the personnel also got hold of licensed and unlicensed fire arms, including a revolver, a pistol, two rifles and several rounds of ammunition from Patil's Colaba house. The CBI also told the media that the nine high frequency walky talky sets that were found are usually used by security forces and are not available to the public.

Patil is in CBI custody and has refused to give any information till now. However learning about the raid, he had apparently started opening up.
