Stay wary of Orkut, Facebook: Army warns personnel

New Delhi, Jun 18: Fearing leak of sensitive information, the Indian army has asked its personnel not to post their employment information on social netwroking sites like Orkut.

The Army issued a circular recently instructing its personnel to immediately remove service related information they may have posted on sites like Orkut and Facebook. It said that by removing the information from the net they could avoid questions on their service from net users.

Noting that this is the matter of national security, the Army said that the personnel may be unknowingly give out information to the enemies of the nation.

The circular is issues periodically and is re-issued in order to creat awareness on information security among the net-savvy personnel.
