Police awaits Mahalingam's forensic report
Bangalore, Jun 16: Karnataka police on Tuesday, Jun 16 said that they are awaiting the chemical analysis report to determine the exact cause of death of L Mahalingam, the Kaiga Atomic Power Plant scientific officer, whose body was fished out from the Kali River on Saturday, Jun 13.
"We're waiting for the chemical analysis report from the Forensic Science Laboratory, Bangalore, to find the exact cause of death of Mahalingam," Uttara Kannada district Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta said in Kaiga, about 500 km from here."The result of the report is likely to reach us within three days," added Gupta.
However, the officer declined to comment on whether Mahalingam (47) had committed suicide. The nuclear scientist went missing on Jun 8, when he reportedly left home for a morning walk in the Kaiga township.
