ATR on 26/11 probe panel report tabled amid pandemonium
Mumbai, June 16 (ANI): The Action Taken Report (ATR) on the Mumbai terror attacks was tabled on the concluding day of the budget session in the Maharashtra Assembly today.
The assembly was adjourned for 20 minutes amid pandemonium, as the Opposition Shiv Sena-BJP demanded tabling of the Ram Pradhan Panel Report on the terror attacks.
The Sena-BJP Opposition has been demanding immediate tabling of the report and a full-fledged discussion on it.
They also demanded extension of the budget session by one more day to facilitate discussion on the report.
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had held a cabinet meeting earlier this morning to discuss the Ram Pradhan Committee report.
According to sources, the ATR has raised question mark over the role of then Mumbai Police chief Hasan Gafoor, who was allegedly failed to provide leadership during the attacks.
The report also exposes the poor lack of coordination between top IPS officers and other law enforcing agencies in seriously tackling the situation.
The ATR alleges that Mumbai Police Commissioner and the states Special Task Force (STF) clearly failed to follow the standard operating module while dealing with the terrorists. (ANI)
