TCS, Wipro pursue outsourcing deal with UK's RMG
Bangalore, Jun 15: India's top tech firms, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro are reportedly preparing to bid for UK state-owned Royal Mail Group (RMG) outsourcing contract worth 200 million dollars.
This contract is a part of a technology-led transformation planned out by RMG. This 2-billion dollars worth transformation comes at the time when Britain is trying to partly privatise its premier postal service and help it compete better with private sector rivals.
The firm that will secure the contract will be expected to take responsibility for the existing e-business operating model of the Royal Mail Group as well as technology platforms and third party service relationships.
The invite is open all and the winning bid will be revealed in early 2010.
