First convocation of HIV care medics held in New Delhi
New Delhi, June 8 (ANI): A team of health workers, specialized in HIV care training were given certificates at a convocation function held at the American Center in New Delhi on Monday.
Diplomas were issued to 24 learners on successful completion of three months of intensive training to develop clinical skills at anti-retroviral therapy (ART) to the AIDS/HIV affected.
The training and education programme was introduced with the collaboration of AHF India cares and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
"HIV AIDS medics who are passing out, will be first line of support which would be made available to the affected individuals in this part of the country," said Omprakash Mishra, Pro-Vice Chancellor of IGNOU.
The programme was developed by AIDS healthcare foundation in order to meet acute shortage of trained healthcare workers for HIV patients.
The medics will now join various hospitals across the country. (ANI)
