GM India plans Rs 2 Lakh small car

New Delhi, Jun 3: The General Motors in United States may have filed for bankruptcy but that does not seem stop the General Motors India from moving ahead in its market. Following Tata's Nano and Maruti's Ritz, GM India is all set to release a small car at a price tag of under Rs. 2 lakh.

GM India said that it aims to release the world's cheapest car in Indian markets that can be placed under the Chevrolet Spark hatchback which is the cheapest car offered in India as of now.

The company, however, made it clear that this move does not come as a retaliation to Tata's Nano.
