Congress still undecided over cabinet berths

New Delhi, May 27: Even with the frequent and long meetings between Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi and the Cabinet Expansion deferred to Thursday, May 28; the bickering among the leader over berths seems to carry on uninterrupted ending.

The Congress that is restless over the wrangling among the leaders for the portfolios, party president Sonia Gandhi consulted senior leaders Pranab Mukherjee, A K Antony and Ahmed Patel at 10, Janpath before driving down to 7, Race Course Road to discuss ministerial candidates and portfolios with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Just like the four-hour-meeting that took place on Monday, May 25 the three-hour-long meeting on Wednesday, May 27 too ended inconclusive.

However, media Reports suggest that 13 portfolios may be finalised and allotted on Wednesday, May 27. CNN IBN reports that Information and Broadcasting Ministry may to go to Anand Sharma; Azhagiri from DMK could get Chemicals and Fertilisers, while Dayanidhi Maran is likely to get Textiles; A Raja, may get the IT ministry, Vayalar Ravi could get the Parliamentary Affairs Department, Meira Kumar likely to get Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
