M&M plant: Worker strike ends, operations resume

Mumbai, May 19: The 15-day-long-tool-down strike at Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Nashik plant and the production has resumed after the management and internal union came to terms with each other amicably.

The plant that specially produces the new luxury car Xylo will resume its operations. The company sources said that with the 'tool down' strike being called off the workers will be carrying on with their duties from Tuesday, May 19.

However, the details of the agreement have not been disclosed by the company.

The workers called on a strike to protest against the suspension of union leader Madhavrao Dhatrak on May 5. The halted operations in the plant cost the company quiet a hefty loss while the competitors took advantage of the situation.
