Triumphant Maneka, Varun Gandhi meet LK Advani

New Delhi, May 17: Following their victory in Pilibhit and Aonla, Bharatiya Janta Party members Varun Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi on Sunday, May 17 went to meet senior party member L K Advani.

The mother-son duo met LK Advani after reports of Advani's desire to step down from the position of the opposition leader.

Following the meeting, speculations over the role of Varun Gandhi in the party scenario has come up. The meeting has left people guessing if the young and controversial Varun will have much more to do in BJP now that he has won from his constituency.

During his election campaigns Varun Gandhi allegedly delivered an inflammatory speech which grew into a controversy when Mayawati government slapping National Security Act on him which was revoked later on.

Analysts and experts who deliberated on the reasons for LK Advani and BJP's failure in the Lok Sabha Polls 2009 have questioned if Advani's support for Varun Gandhi was a reason for their failure as a party.
