Tirupati, AP: Megastar Chiru wins, party flops

Tirupati, May 16: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi has succeeded in his first election from the Tirupati Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh.

The actor turned politician beat his rival B Karunakar Reddy by a huge margin of 10,500 votes, the official sources said.

However, he is still lagging in Palakollu, the second constituency he is contesting from in his native West Godavari district.

His party, PRP is also in the red in the State Assembly elections with Congress sweeping the lead in the state.
