Manmohan to be the next PM?
New Delhi, May 16: Singh is truly the King of India. As the counting progress for the 15nth Loksabha elections, the answer was increasingly becoming clear that Manmohan Singh, was all set to reprise the role. Manmohan Singh is the second Indian prime minister to be re elected after a full five year term since Jawarharlal Nehru.
The Congress led UPA is heading for a clear victory in the 15th Lok Sabha elections for which counting began on Saturday morning, with the UPA leading in 2348 seats and the NDA ahead in 155 seats out of the 529 seats for which trends were available.
The 76-year-old leader is the first person to be projected as PM candidate by the Congress which has ruled the country for 50 years of the six decades that India has been independent.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had thrown their weight behind his candidature and have often declared that the issue is 'non-negotiable'.
