Rahul in TN, tries to mollify DMK and Tamils

Sivaganga, May 9: AICC's general secretary Rahul Gandhi visited Tamil Nadu on Friday, May 8 with twofold objective of campaigning in the southern state along with winning back the confidence of DMK as an ally to Congress on Friday, May 8.

With his statement, "Tamil Nadu has a special place in my family's heart", Rahul Gandhi won over the crowd. This was further strengthen by promising that UPA will work towards the rights of the Tamil civilians in the embattled country Sri Lanka.

Rahul Gandhi tried to set the record straight with DMK which was strained by his description of DMK's rival AIADMK as a like-minded party. In this endeavor he said that Congress considered DMK a valued ally and encouraged co operation between both the parties in order to win the polls.
