Singer Hans Raj Hans to contest LS polls from Jalandhar on a SAD ticket

Jalandhar, Apr 27 (ANI): Punjabi sufi singer Hans Raj Hans will contest the general elections from the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency on a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ticket.

Hans Raj Hans, who has received the Padma Shri award, said he wants to work for the poor.

"I want to work for development. I want to help in making a law for the poor that provides them food and a roof above their heads. For Jalandhar, there should be flyovers and parks to beautify the city. But it is the rural areas, which need more work," Hans said.

The residents are impressed with Hans' singing and are hoping that he would also prove himself as a good politician as well.

"If he wins the election, I believe he will be a fine parliamentarian. He would understand our problems. I think he would listen to us if we go with our demands," said Arvinder, a esident. (ANI)
