'UPA delaying Afzhal Guru's execution for votes'

Ahmedabad, Apr 27: Taking on the Congress on the issue of Afzhal Guru, L K Advani said that UPA is delaying his execution for votes.

Addressing an election rally on Sunday, Apr 26 in New Vadaj area of the city, Advani said , "They (UPA) are saying that there were terrorist attacks like the one on Parliament and Aksahrdham when I was Home Minister, I say yes I accept it. But see what we have done in the case. We caught the conspirators, prosecuted them and convicted them."

He said that if it was an 'Anand Singh' or 'Anand mohan' they would not have hesitated in executing the death sentence given to the accused. He questioned if Manmohan Singh was only delaying it to win the votes of the minority community.

He further said that he has discussed this issue with his 'Muslim brothers' who told him that they were against this too and that they never asked the government to not punish terrorists.
