Poor results; IIT-Kharagpur student kills self

Kolkata, Apr 24: A IIT-Kharagpur student reportedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Thursday, Apr 24. K Ramananda Rao, a chemical engineering student in IIT-K was from Andhra Pradesh.

The institution sources said that the 22-year-old failed to perform well in the last semester and was very depressed with the result. The body was found after the sweeper alerted other students when Rao did not open his room despite persistent knocks.

Rao's body was later handed over to the police for post mortem.
