Wipro posts net profit of Rs 910 cr in Q4

Bangalore, Apr 22: Wipro Ltd posted a net profit of Rs 910 cr for the fourth quarter (Q4) according to US GAAP on Wednesday, Apr 22. According to the Indian GAAP, the net profit of the company was at Rs 1,011 cr.

For the next quarter which would be the first quarter between the months of Apr and Jun the company has projected IT services revenue at $1.01 billion to $1.02 billon, based on rupee at 50.25 per dollar. This is much less than the $1.05 billion in the fourth quarter.

Suresh Senapaty, Chief Financial Officer of Wipro, added “The striking facet of our performance for quarter ended March 2009 was that we delivered on all operating parameters. We expanded our margins despite the headwinds of reduction in volumes and lower tailwind of Forex gains."

Wipro is India's largest software services provider and has acquired 110 new clients over the FY09.
