Old lady 'Congress' must depart: Modi
Bangalore, Apr 10: While campaigning in Bangalore, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Gujrat Chief Minister Narendra Modi called Congress Party an 125 year old lady who has turned into a burden on the country.
Modi referred to the Congress party leading the UPA as an old 'burden' that must 'depart' for the sake of the country. He called his party a 29 year old 'young party' which is what India and its youth need.
"BJP is a youthful party. Its dreams are youthful, its intentions are youthful," he said.
On the issue of terrorism, he said after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks India should have given Pakistan a 'fitting reply'.
"Response to terrorism should be given in the language of terrorism. Pakistan should be made to understand in Pakistani language", Modi said
He said UPA government going to America for help after the attacks was a shocking thing.
"India's Home Minister pleaded on the streets of Washington 'save us, save us, do something'," and he added "Congress people, drown yourselves".
Like BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani, Modi too called Manmohan Singh 'the weakest Prime Minister'.
