IIP falls to 1.2 pc in Feb

New Delhi, Apr 9: The IIP (Index of Industrial Production) for the month of Feb fell 1.2 pc from a revised 0.4 pc growth in Jan. In 2008 IIP grew to about 9.5 per cent.

The manufacturing index fell to 1.4 per cent against the 9.6 pc growth on a year-on basis, while the mining output dropped 1.6 pc which witnessed 8 pc growth last year. The IIP date released show that the output for the electricity increased marginally by 0.7 pc compared with a 9.8 pc growth during the period under review.
