BJP's LK Advani files nomination

Gandhinagar, Apr 8: LK Advani, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate filed his nomination to the Lok Sabha from Gandhinagar of Gujarat. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter. Narendra Modi, the Gujarat CM and senior party leaders too accompanied Advani.

The BJP leader is seeking re-election from the constituency for the fifth-time. Advani filed the papers exactly at 12.39 PM as suggested by the astrologers. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama had killed Ravana exactly at 12.39 PM, which was chosen by Advani to file the nomination.

After the retirement of senior BJP leader Atal Behari Vajpayee, Advani's popularity increased among the party cadres and people. He is now considered as the 'Iron Man' of the party.

Before filing the nomination, he addressed a rally in Gandhinagar and said, "Our target is to get India the first position in all the countries of the world." He promised to voters that the 21st century will be the century of India, if BJP is voted to power.
