Congress to field Rita Bahuguna Joshi from Lucknow

New Delhi, Apr 7 (ANI): Congress has decided to field Rita Bahuguna Joshi as its candidate for the Lucknow parliamentary constituency.

Joshi is the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President and the daughter of late UP Chief Minister H. N. Bahuguna.

Congress had earlier said that it would not field candidate from Lucknow seat. Later, however, when it became clear that Dutt would not be able to contest, the party decided to field a candidate from the seat.

Samajwadi Party is now fielding actress Nafisa Ali from the seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Lal Ji Tandon while Akhilesh Das Gupta is in fray on BSP's ticket. (ANI)
