Dalai Lama presides over conference on 'Indian View for Global Peace'

Dharamsala, Apr 6 (ANI): The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama presided over a conference on world peace in Dharamsala on Sunday.

Organised by voluntary group 'India Splendour', the conference looks at theIndian View for Global Peace.'

Hindu spiritual leader, the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Divyanand Teerthji Maharaj of Bhanpura Peeth, Buddhist leader Gyalwang Karmapa Orgyen Drodul Trinley Dorje, and many others attended the conference.

The conference provided a platform where spiritual leaders spoke about world peace, compassion and what could be done to build religious harmony.

"This is the second conference on the Indian View for Global Peace and based on inter-connectedness. His holiness Dalai Lama, Karmapa, Guru Shankaracharya and other religious leaders gathered here to discuss about global peace," said said Tenzin, a Buddhist nun.

Bollywood actor Lisa Ray, who attended the conference, said she was awe struck by the speeches.

"The Dalai Lama has said put humanity first. It's about putting humanity first," said Lisa Ray. (ANI)
