Babu Jagjivan Ram's 102nd birth anniversary today
New Delhi, Apr. 5 (ANI): Babu Jagjivan Ram's 102nd birth anniversary is being celebrated on Sunday.
To pay homage to him, a sarvadharma (all religion) prayer meeting was held in New Delhi on Sunday morning.
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and other leaders will pay floral tributes to him at Parliament House.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Babu remained a Member of Parliament till his death in 1986 after over 40 years as a parliamentarian.
His uninterrupted representation in the Parliament from 1936 to 1986 was a world record, until Tony Benn overtook him by serving 51 years in the British parliament. (ANI)
