RJD, LJP, SP to jointly contest LS polls

Lucknow, Apr 3: New alliance between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP) parties will be announced on Friday, Apr 3.

On Mar 29, SP General Secretary Amar Singh said, "The RJD, the LJP and the SP will sit together in Lucknow to discuss and announce the secular alliance." On Mar 26, the three parties had independently expressed intentions to form alliances.

He added that there will be no clash with each other in the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP) with 120 Lok Sabha seats. This alliance means that SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan would be together.

LJP leader Paswan stated that this party would be an 'alternative' against the 'communal forces'.
