Elections in Kashmir will need more forces
Poonch (J-K), Mar 26 (ANI): More paramilitary forces would be deployed in Kashmir during the general elections, scheduled to be held next month.
R C Tayal, Inspector General (IG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu Province, visited the Poonch district in Jammu in connection with the deployment of forces during the elections.
"We are planning deployment of central paramilitary forces for parliamentary elections. I am confident that it will be held peacefully," said Tayal.
India will hold a five-phased elections between April 16 and May 13, in which 714 million people will be eligible to cast their votes to elect a new Central Government.
The main contest will be between the Congress-led coalition and the leading opposition bloc, headed by the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Some other parties, including the communists, have also been formed a grouping under the banner of 'Third Front'. (ANI)
