Jennifer Hudson to 'return' to 'American Idol'

New York, Mar 25 (ANI): Jennifer Hudson is returning to 'American Idol' to perform for one night only, according to sources.

According to reports, the Oscar-winning actress and singer will be making a special appearance on the highly-popular Fox series, reports the New York Daily News.

Sources say that she will perform not live, but in a taped segment to appear in an upcoming episode.

This would mark Hudson's first major television appearance since the brutal murder of her mother, brother and nephew in Chicago last year.

The 26-year-old rose to fame during the third season of 'American Idol,' but was voted out, despite being the favourite to win. (ANI)
