Assam daily Editor, Anil Majumdar shot

Guwahati, Mar 25: Assamese daily, Aji's Editor, Anil Majumdar was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Guwahati. The 40-year old Editor was fired with automatic weapons from close range outside his residence around 2230 hrs IST.

"Majumdar was returning from office and was about to enter his residence when unidentified gunmen waiting in a car outside his gate fired at him indiscriminately," senior police official G P Singh said.

There were about seven bullet injuries in his chest. Police are clueless about the attack. "Majumdar was known for his bold and fearless journalism," Atanu Bhuyan, a senior journalist said.
