Online entrance exams in IIT-Madras

Chennai, Mar 24: Online exams are becoming more popular. Now the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) will conduct its major part of the entrance exam to its five year Integrated Master of Arts (MA) through online.

According to a press release from IIT-M Deputy Registrar Lt Col (Retd) Jayakumar: "For the fist time, the first part of the examination (objective type) for the all India entrance exam, called Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination, (HSEE), will be held online."

The duration of the exam would be two and a half hours.

Those who have completed their Standard 12 in English, Economics and Development Studies are eligible for MA programme.

IIT-M had introduced a new 'online assisted mode' in the application pattern which would enable the aspirants to submit filled-in application forms and fee at designated branches of Indian Bank and Union Bank, which would send it to IIT-M.
