Lifer for Saravana Bhavan owner Rajagopal

Chennai, Mar 19: Saravana Bhavan hotel owner P Rajagopal was awarded life sentence by the Madras High Court for kidnapping and murder. The MHC pronounced the verdict over a bail plea filed by Rajagopal against ten years rigorous imprisonment awarded earlier. Eight others also received the same life term.

In 2001 the Saravana Bhavan hotel owner was held in connection with the murder of Prince Shanthakumar, husband of Jeevajyothi, who Raju wanted to marry. The local media reports Rajagopal as a man who coveted the wives of his employees. Earlier Rajagopal was convicted for forging visa documents for taking his employees abroad.
