All Third Front leaders aspirant to occupy PM seat: Paswan

New Delhi, Mar 15 (ANI): Union Steel Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Sunday said that all the leaders in the Third Front were aspirants to occupy the chair of Prime Minister.

"An atmosphere is being created in the Third Front in the name of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. If you look at the Third Front, all are candidates; nobody is a follower, all of them are leaders. No one is the Prime Ministerial candidate in the Front," Paswan said while addressing a press conference here.

Meanwhile, in Bangalore, the Janata Dal- Secular (JD-S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy asserted that the outfit would not have any problem if Mayawati was selected as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the Front.

"Our national President has already expressed several times that if Mayawati is accepted as the prime ministerial candidate from other parties of the Front, our party will not have any problem to support her as a Prime Minister," Kumaraswamy observed.

India will hold the general election between April 16 and May 13, in which 714 million people will be casting their votes.

On March 2, former Prime Minister and Janata Dal- Secular (JD-S) Chief H. D. Deve Gowda had announced the formation of a Third Front, an alliance of eight parties, including the Left.

The parties, supporting Deve Gowda are: Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM), Forward Bloc, Republican Party of India (RPI), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Janata Dal Secular (JDS). (ANI)
