Toxic holi colours: 60 kids hospitalised in Thane
Thane, Mar 12: Around 60 children were hospitalised in Ambernath town of Thane on Wednesday, Mar 11 after they developed complications due to the presence of chemical content in the holi powder used during celebrations.
Sometime after the children came in contact with the colours, the children complained of nausea and giddiness. They were immediately rushed to the Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar town for treatment.
The chemical created irritation in eyes and itching. At least five children were taken to the Thane civil hospital for further treatment, they added.
Police are trying to locate the shops that sold these colours.
